On October 15, people of all ages gathered at Grand Parade Square in downtown Halifax to kick off the Occupy Nova Scotia rally. They join protests around the world, which started on Wall Street in New York. The movement wants to reform the financial system that they say benefits only the richest 1 per cent of people in the world.

“A lot of people are saying that this is more about complaining than it is about real change, but for me it’s about wanting a better country,” said Robin Young, a student, “and since it’s our country, we need to demand it.”
