Two positions are now open after both the External Vice-President, Katie Douglas and Board of Governors Representative, Anika Roberts-Stahlbrand, resigned from their positions at the Council meeting on Sunday.
Douglas will still be involved with Council as she enjoyed her job, but is resigning because she is sick.
According to the KSU’s Live Blog notes from the Council meeting, Douglas got sick during the summer and took a break then. She did not announce any specifics of her illness or its severity, but mentioned she would not be able to perform her job fully and wants the EVP to be able to support its students.
Stahlbrand, who resigned from her position as Board of Governors said that although she has learned a lot from her position, she will be running for Douglas’s External Vice-President position in the upcoming election, as Douglas has resigned.
The Council positions are usually elected in February, but due to the timing of these resignations, a by-election will instead by held in the upcoming week.
Nomination forms are now available and must be submitted by the 23rd of September at 11:59 and votes will be held on the 24th and 25th of September from 9am-5pm.
