King's receives donation for new weight room

The new weight room features a full range of barbells and free weights, padded floors, yoga and medicine balls, multi-use machines, a fancy bench press and windows looking out over the gym and Dalhousie.

King's bursar Gerry Smith fired

University of King’s College bursar Gerry G. Smith has been fired by the school’s board of governors. Smith has been on administrative leave since the end of March.

Bookstore postpones special general meeting

The general meeting of the King’s Co-op Bookstore has been postponed. The meeting, which was called by a petition circulated by five King’s students, was originally set for Nov. 21. There will be a town hall meeting with no voting Wednesday.

King’s renews Sodexo contract without faculty, student involvement

King has signed a four-year extension to its contract with Sodexo, which was set to expire in June 2013. Instead, Sodexo will continue to operate out of Prince Hall until September 2017.

King’s rugby team wins Maritime championship by a landslide

The King’s men’s rugby team has won the Maritime championship for the first time in the school’s history. The team travelled to Wolfville on Nov. 3 to play the University of New Brunswick in the Maritime final, the icing on the season’s cake.
