Did September just go by in the blink of an eye?
As President Lahey said, the first month of school is rarely a milestone. This year, any small victory is enough reason for celebration. Just as King’s is proud of what its students have achieved, The Watch is very proud to welcome new members to our family!
The first month is always busy for us. Finding new stories, new writers and hiring our staff for the year. Hiring is an important factor in determining how the rest of the year will go for the magazine. In my time here, I have to admit that I never saw so many talented people apply at once! Choosing was extremely difficult. After many discussions, we finally decided.
Drumroll please! This year’s staff members are:
Sam Sumner as our visual editor.
Emily McRae as our copy editor.
Alexis Moffett, Dylan Taylor, Chase Fitzgerald and Jack Ronahan as our staff reporters.
Welcome to all of you! Our family has gotten bigger once again and we cannot wait to see the great work you will do.
For those of you who have followed our hiring, you will see that we do not have a treasurer. Sadly it seems like the position has not attracted its match yet. For this position, we are looking for someone who has a basic knowledge of spreadsheets as well as some experience managing finances. A treasurer is vital to the proper functioning of our magazine. The best part about taking on this position is that last year’s treasurer is still a part of our team and will be there to guide you every step of the way.
The reason we are able to improve The Watch this year is because last year’s treasurer discovered that we had the funds to sustain our ambitions.
If you, or someone you know, would be interested in becoming our treasurer, email us at watcheditors@gmail.com.
Happy October to you! Now go carve a pumpkin.
Love,
Kheira
