Protestors rally against acquittal of Halifax cab driver

1–2 minutes

Last week, Halifax taxi driver Bassam Al-Rawi was acquitted of sexually assaulting an intoxicated and unconscious female passenger by Judge Gregory E Lenehan. Lenehan said it was because the Crown was not able to prove the passenger’s lack of consent.
Yesterday, hundreds of protesters gathered at Grand Parade Square in Downtown Halifax to rally against Lenehan’s decision.
