The Watch is hiring both a treasurer and a copy editor for the 2017/18 academic year. We love bringing on new people to work with us, so please apply! Both positions are paid positions and open to anyone.
Applications in the form of resumés and/or cover letters will be accepted until September 15. Those considered for one of the positions will be contacted for interviews. Applicants are welcome to submit for both positions.

Treasurer:
As per The Watch’s constitution, the responsibilities of the treasurer are:
Paying bills.
Invoicing customers for all advertisements in conjunction with the Publisher.
Negotiating finances with external organizations.
Maintaining The Watch’s bank accounts and property.
Keeping a full record of the publication’s financial position and making such information accessible to all members.
Co-signing all cheques.
An understanding of Microsoft Excel is an asset.
Copy Editor:
The copy editor edits all stories for the print edition of the magazine as well as stories published online. The copy editor is expected to:
Edit all stories for content, spelling and grammar.
Fact-check all stories.
Return edited stories in a timely manner.
Make suggestions based on the recommendations of the Canadian Press (CP) Stylebook.
Previous knowledge of CP Style is an asset, but not required. The Watch is able to supply access to the stylebook if necessary.
