Weekly horoscopes

Raine Moonwalker is the resident astrologist here at the Watch. She spends her spare time stargazing, reading tarot and meditating. She’s asked us to start writing weekly horoscopes because she feels that her intuitive powers have been telling her that this is the right move, and the universe has been pushing her to this as well. We don’t know what that means, but hey, if she wants to help us better our lives, who are we to stop her?

Feb. 2

Aquarius – The sun is in your sign until Feb. 18, making this is your time, moonchild. You need to start thinking about what you want 2018 to bring, and what it is you want to accomplish. But don’t move too quickly, in the coming weeks you’ll feel the world start to move a 100 miles a minute, it’s best to take it slow while you still can. Take the time to centre your focus before starting a big assignment, and make sure to leave room for your creative side to take over.
Pisces – First thing you need to do moonchild, is take a deep breath. Over the next week, you’re going to be feeling the pressure to overwork yourself, but I need you to remember that your worth is not determined by the amount of work you do. Your task this week is to take 30 minutes each day to remind yourself to stop controlling and start allowing things to work themselves out. You have some tough times coming with the new moon next week, so take the time to take care of yourself now, before it’s too late.
Aries – It’s time for you to step out of the spotlight, moonchild. Life has been difficult for you over the last few weeks, and you need to spend the upcoming week focusing on yourself, by yourself. Allow the people you love to step into the spotlight and do what you can to help them reach their goals. Doing so will help you prepare for the partial solar eclipse that’s coming next week, which will help you realize your rightful place here on campus.
Taurus – Let’s be honest, you’ve been a mess recently, moonchild. With the lunar eclipse on Jan. 31, you’ve been hit with emotions at every corner. It’s time for you to face emotions head-on, rather than ignoring them. It may also be a good idea to allow for more of a work-life balance, giving yourself time to relax and focus on getting yourself back on track. Things will get easier in the coming weeks, just keep holding on.
Gemini – Leave the drama for your momma, moonchild. It’s time for you to humbly work towards your goals, and keep people in your corner who will assist you in getting there. If there are people in your life that affect you negatively, then it may be time to cut them loose in a way that is kind and gentle. Focus on the big picture and the possibilities ahead, and this task will seem small in the grand scheme. Get ready for the next couple weeks to be focused on community and collaboration, but try not to force anything.
Cancer – I know that everything in your life has been all over the place in the last few weeks, moonchild. With the stress of school, work and finances, things may be feeling like they’re getting away from you, and you may be right. But for now, it’s time to put some solid foundations down. With the solar eclipse coming next week you may see some major financial changes, but with these foundations, in place, you’ll be better equipped to deal with stress and overwhelming emotions. Remember to slow down and wait it out with people who will buy you ice cream when you’re sad. Things will get better soon, don’t doubt your strength.
Leo – Love is in the air for you, moonchild. There appears to be a high chance for you to build relationships this week, maybe even romantic ones, and with the solar eclipse just around the corner, things may really take off for you! It’s your time to step into the spotlight and take the things that you deserve! There’s no more waiting for the right time. The right time is now! Additional tip: stop being stubborn, and take some advice when you need it, you don’t always have to have everything figured out.
Virgo – Slow your roll and collect yourself, moonchild, you’re gonna need it. This upcoming week looks like there are gonna be some big changes and unexpected news coming your way that you’re not gonna know how to deal with. Don’t stress though, this is the perfect time to move into a new chapter of your life away from any self-sabotaging patterns. It’s also a good time to learn, to allow yourself to be prepared for the future you’re creating for yourself!
Libra – This week is going to be the beginning of a bit of a whirlwind for you moonchild, so hold on tight. Over the next couple of weeks, you may notice your place within your relationships start to shift. While you begin to figure out this new place, I encourage you to allow yourself to be seen and be heard. I know you usually like to let others shine brighter than yourself, but it’s time for you to show the world what you’re capable of. Especially since in the coming weeks your drive and creativity may be tested.
Scorpio – Moonchild, this week isn’t looking so great for you. The lunar eclipse that came on Jan. 31 is going to be threatening your places of comfort and force you to make hard and bold decisions – especially in work situations. This may push you to be more assertive and daring, and while I encourage that, moonchild, I also want you to take these changes with ease. There’s no fighting destiny!
Sagittarius – Okay, it’s time to get out of this slump and do something about your problems, moonchild. The last several weeks have been ones of self-doubt and self-loathing and it’s time for you to get over it. This week calls for growth and adventure, meaning that you need to find the will to fight for things again. Take your stubbornness and put it to the side and allow yourself to take a gamble on you. It’s looking like aces for you, moonchild, but first, you have to try.
Capricorn – You’ve been busy recently moonchild, but it’s time to get your head out of the clouds and regroup. This week calls for some intense feelings coming your way, and we need to make sure that you’re ready for them. You may want to distract yourself with work or with your partner, but you need to take this time to face these feelings head-on. Next week’s solar eclipse will cause some serious changes for you, and if you don’t deal with these feelings now, you may be left behind
